Located on Inglenook Lane in Matunuck, Rhode Island, this shingle-style residence was the first of two homes designed and built for an extended family on neighboring properties. The goal was to create a home that embraced its coastal setting, capturing expansive ocean views while drawing inspiration from the architectural traditions and historic character of the surrounding area.

The exterior combines classic shingle-style elements with carefully considered proportions, generous porches, and details that complement the home’s coastal setting. Inside, a bright and welcoming palette of white millwork and natural wood creates a relaxed atmosphere, while thoughtfully framed views connect the interior spaces to the surrounding landscape.

At the heart of the home is a substantial wood-burning masonry fireplace, serving as a defining architectural feature of the main living space. Custom built-ins, traditional millwork, and carefully crafted details throughout reinforce the home’s timeless New England character.
